Our raw material: wood sustainable and ecological

InscaShops' bespoke commercial equipment is made with the noblest material there is: wood sustainable. Here's how!
En InscaShops, nuestra materia prima es la madera sostenible y ecológica

Wood is one of the most flexible materials as it is durable, recyclable and artistic. In addition, the carbon footprint it generates is lower than other building materials. At InscaShops we make commercial furniture for our clients with wood sustainable.

Thus, the wood we use, our raw material, is environmentally friendly. We require our suppliers to have the FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) and PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification) seals, and we have the ISO 14001 certificate which guarantees that we respect the environment and the ISO 9001 certificate for quality management.

En InscaShops fabricamos equipamiento comercial a medida con madera sostenible.

At InscaShops we are committed to sustainably produced wood. In this way, we guarantee our customers that they are buying quality commercial equipment made from wood from sustainably managed forests, but what do these certificates certify?

Sustainability certifications on InscaShops wood

Sustainability certifications are assessment and verification systems that we use to ensure that our commercial furniture and equipment complies with sustainability standards and principles. They help us make informed and responsible purchasing decisions. In this way, we choose the wood from our suppliers that is most environmentally, socially and economically committed.

1

The two main forestry certifications that guarantee the sustainability of the wood we use are FSC and PEFC. These certification systems set standards and principles for sustainable forest management that apply to forests and the forest products supply chain.

Our commitment to forests: FSC certification

The FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certificate is a certification that we require from our suppliers to guarantee that the wood we order comes from sustainably managed forests, i.e. that they comply with the standards and principles of sustainable forest management established by the council.

Our raw material: wood sustainable and ecological

The seal, therefore, assures our customers that the wood from which we manufacture the furniture for their businesses comes from responsibly managed forests and that the rights of workers and local communities have been respected, as well as the conservation of biodiversity and the protection of the environment.

The forest certification system: PEFC

The PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification) is another certification scheme we require from our raw material suppliers that promotes sustainable forest management. It is based on regional and national processes and is supported by governments, companies, non-governmental organisations and other stakeholders.

In addition, through PEFC certification, we are able to track wood throughout its supply chain: from the certified forest to the final product purchased by our customers. The mechanism for tracing the material is called chain of custody certification.

6

Thus, with both certifications, we can ensure that the raw material we purchase comes from a certified forest where the rights of the workers in the production process have also been protected.

In short, we at InscaShops are committed to promote sustainable forest management and the conservation of forests globally for future generations.

What are the sustainable forests from which our wood sustainable comes?

They are those that are used responsibly and protected in the long term to ensure the conservation of their resources and biodiversity. Sustainable forest management involves ensuring that logging is carried out in a selective and controlled manner, with the aim of maintaining the health and productivity of the forest.

It also involves the protection and maintenance of biological diversity, including the protection of the fauna and flora that inhabit it, and the conservation of water, soil and air resources.

11

In conclusion, sustainable forest management seeks to balance the economic, social and environmental needs of the community, ensuring the continued provision of forest products and services, such as timber, food, water and clean air, without compromising the forest’s ability to provide these services in the future.

ISO 14001: committed to sustainability and the environment

At InscaShops we are committed to sustainability and the environment which is why we have ISO 14001. An international standard that establishes the requirements for an environmental management system (EMS) that implements procedures to control and reduce environmental impacts.

In this sense, we develop and incorporate in our procedures policies and actions that allow us to manage our environmental impact in an effective and systematic way. How do we help the environment at InscaShops? Here are some examples:

  1. We have solar panels on the roof of our warehouses, which occupy a surface area of 7000 m2.
  2. 40% of the energy we consume is photovoltaic and we reduce CO2 emissions by 91 600 kg/year.
  3. We maintain a recycling system for each type of waste.
  4. Our wood-based raw material comes from sustainably managed forests.
  5. We select suppliers that guarantee sustainable and environmentally friendly models.
14

And that’s not all. In addition, at InscaShops, both in the factory and in the company’s offices, we comply with the environmental laws and regulations that we can apply.

ISO 9001: Quality management

The motto under which we do all our work is The Finest Work, because we are such perfectionists that the result of our bespoke commercial furniture is unbeatable. If you are looking for quality in retail furniture, restaurant furniture or contract furniture, we guarantee excellence. How?

At InscaShops we also have ISO 9001. An international standard that establishes the requirements for a quality management system (QMS) in our company. With this certificate we improve the quality of our products and services, meet the needs and expectations of our customers and improve our performance on a daily basis.

9

In short, we care about every detail. We are aware of the importance of caring for the environment and we take action to reduce our carbon footprint. For example, we require our suppliers to be FSC and PEFC certified, and we have ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certificates that guarantee the quality of our processes and respect for our environment.
