The selection of central furniture for retail spaces directly influences the shopping experience, as it is the main point where products come to life in front of the customer’s eyes. In this sense, display tables become the ideal support for highlighting different types of garments and accessories.
Below, we present you four types of display tables that adapt to different areas and commercial styles, taking as an example the project we have materialised for Galeries Lafayette Lyon Bron, where we manufacture custom-made commercial equipment for several areas.
1. Block-shaped side tables: central furniture for retail spaces
Commercial furniture in the children’s section must meet specific ergonomic, safety and design criteria: the use of soft, organic shapes that avoid sharp corners and materials that are highly resistant to wear and tear.
On the other hand, the finishes must be safe and non-toxic, prioritising colours and textures that promote a playful and attractive environment, while the heights of the elements must be adapted to allow access to the products for both children and adults.
In the case of the Galeries Lafayette Lyon Bron project, following the client’s specifications, we manufactured a side table for children’s clothing that responds to these principles, combining straight and curved shapes that evoke building blocks, a visual nod to children’s creativity.
This model, made from matt lacquered MDF in pastel shades, has a durable, easy-to-clean finish that is ideal for intensive use. In addition, the modular design in pastel shades facilitates integration into the environment, providing a warm and tidy visual language that fits in perfectly with the rest of the furniture and commercial equipment.
2. Custom-designed tables with brand identity
It is important to have shopping centre furniture that reflects the visual identity of a brand in order to create a coherent shopping experience. In other words, the central furniture should act as an extension of the branding, conveying the brand’s values and aesthetics through specific materials, shapes and finishes.
This approach therefore enhances product presentation and contributes to strengthening the customer’s emotional relationship with the brand, as each element of the environment reinforces its unique and differentiated character.
For example, in the main area of Galeries Lafayette Lyon Bron, we worked with a design of display tables, developed in-house, that directly reflect the brand’s identity.
The structure of each table, made of metallised lacquered MDF, includes the letters ‘GLGL’ as a base, integrating the Galeries Lafayette image into the furniture in a subtle and aesthetic way. To achieve this, we fused straight lines and curves with volume to achieve the requested finish.
At InscaShops we take care of the manufacture and assembly of this type of commercial furniture, respecting the design provided and guaranteeing a finish that meets the quality standards and style of the brand. The result is a piece of furniture for a commercial space for displaying clothes and accessories that visually reinforces the distinctive identity of Galeries Lafayette.
3. Marble-effect stone tables for a sophisticated touch
In areas where elegant, high-end presentation is a priority, the choice of materials for retail furniture is essential to reflect quality and distinction.
In this case, for the display tables and lingerie podiums at Galeries Lafayette Lyon Brom, the firm opted for Marmi scala, a reconstituted marble-effect stone. This finish is ideal for commercial spaces as it combines the solidity and elegance of marble with easier maintenance and less porosity.
In this project, the display tables in Marmi scala were used to present shoes and clothing, providing a refined style that enriches the display of quality products. The lingerie podiums, made of the same material, help to create an exclusive atmosphere, where every detail – from the finishes to the arrangement of the furniture – communicates a sense of luxury and aesthetic care.
At InscaShops, as experts in the manufacture of commercial furniture, we work with any type of material and no shape can resist us. Just look at the result of the combination of both models where, following the client’s specifications, we materialised the tables by combining a square base with an oval and circular top.
4. Side tables of different heights in white melamine
The use of display tables at different heights is an effective strategy for improving the display and organisation of products in a retail space. This type of table creates a dynamic arrangement that guides the customer’s gaze and makes it easier to compare products at a glance.
In the Galeries Lafayette project, this approach was materialised in tables made of MDF with white melamine, a robust and easy to maintain material, which also offers a visually clean and neutral surface, ideal for highlighting the garments and accessories on display.
This tiered structure therefore enhances the shopping experience by allowing customers to explore the space comfortably and provides a tidy and adaptable visual style, in line with the Galeries Lafayette aesthetic.
In conclusion, these four styles of display tables illustrate how central furniture for retail spaces can be strategically adapted to reflect brand identity, enhance products and respond to the specific needs of each area of a shop.
The selection of materials, shapes and heights allows the creation of differentiated environments aligned with the purpose of each space, helping to enhance the shopping experience and reinforce the value of the brand.
In this sense, at InscaShops, we reaffirm our commitment to the manufacture of bespoke commercial equipment, providing solutions that combine design, geometry, quality and functionality for major retail, restaurant and contract brands.
